Lake Dunstan Trail - linking Cromwell and Clyde

An even blend of fine gravel and clay, this trail is the newest release into the Cromwell hillside. Experience steep and rugged terrain that is easily accessible thanks to our diggers that carved the trail specifically for all levels. Expect to find a six-bolt bluff and one suspension bridge for jaw-dropping views and an unforgettable ride!

Our guests enjoy exclusive direct access to this river trail at the edge of our property. Take the full day to pedal through this Grade 1-2 ride. Allow for 4-6 hours to fully experience what this stunning trail has to offer.

Bannockburn Sluicing's Track

A favorite for Cromwell walkers and mountain bikers. The trail loops around the former

Bannockburn gold field, providing a vivid slice of history and a rewarding perspective of times gone by. This loop trail is a chance to explore the former goldfield and remains of Stewart Town

Distance: Approx. 3.5 km  Grade: 2-3 Intermediate

From 1862 to the 1930’s the area was sluiced and mined, so you are sure to see remains of dams, water races, tunnels and towering cliff faces - all that is left of hills that have been sluiced away to find the precious gold.

Bendigo reserve trails

Another favourite is the Bendigo scenic and historic reserve which has several short trails suitable for walking and mountain biking.

The area has unequalled views of the Upper Clutha Basin and the farmland and vineyards on the slopes and valleys below.

The trails start near the main historic sites of Logantown and Welshtown and the mining remnants scattered throughout.  Parking and toilets are at Welshtown, along with interpretation panels explaining these sites. Exploration on foot or bicycle is from this point as this is the heart of this entire historic site.

We have bikes available to borrow and secure bike storage onsite.
